TECHNICAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS WEBSITE'S ACCESSIBILITY
Carlton on Trent PC is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
COMPLIANCE STATUS
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliance issues listed below.
NON-ACCESSIBLE CONTENT
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
NON-COMPLIANCE WITH THE ACCESSIBILITY REGULATIONS
* Not all text elements have sufficient colour contrast between the text in the foreground and the background colour
* There are unrecognized ARIA attributes and incorrectly applied for ARIA roles in places
* Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information
* Some documents are not fully compliant with accessibility regulations. In particular, the headings are not always formatted in a way to be compatible with e-reader software
CONTENT THAT IS NOT WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE ACCESSIBILITY REGULATIONS
Documents:
The accessibility regulations do not apply to documents published before 23 September 2018 if they are not essential to providing services. Minutes, newsletters and transparency data prior to this date are not therefore in an accessible format. Policies created before this date but in current use will be made compliant at their next review date.
WHAT THE COUNCIL IS DOING TO IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY
Carlton on Trent PC has started to format documents to ensure they are compliant and aims to have completed all post 23 September 2018 documents by the end of 2021. Many of the issues identified are in aspects of the site controlled by the website provider so Carlton on Trent PC is working with the website provider to identify issues and get them corrected. It is therefore impossible to give a timescale for compliance for these elements.
Any new or updated PDFs or Word documents will meet accessibility standards.
